Miss Rodeo America makes a stop at the Ellensburg Rodeo

There are people on the East Coast that have never heard of rodeos in Washington, but Katherine Merck, the first Washingtonian crowned as Miss Rodeo America, is here to change that.

Merck, a Spokane native, has been busy touring the nation promoting a Western way of living as the official ambassador for the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association.

She’s scheduled to travel for 340 days and cover around 120,000 miles. One of those stops was at the Ellensburg Rodeo on Monday morning.
